Bluey and the Green Cord Hike (Part 6)

Everyone had boarded the ferry, with Kiwi and Darien at the front, Health and Lucas at one side of the boat, and Aimee and Hayley behind them. The ferry started moving, and everyone was settling in, Aimee helping Hayley fix up the tent that she had loosely tied in the morning. Heath was trying to open the window further than a few inches, but even with all his strength, it wouldn't budge. Probably because the other window was in the way, but whatever. Heath still had me in his grasp as he put my face next to the partially open window, allowing me to see the beautiful landscape. I got to gaze out at the watery scene as we slowly meandered along the river. I got to see my brethren, out there, floating in the water with nothing but the tide pushing them along, the jellyfish making no effort of self-preservation as the ginormous boat flew over them. It was peaceful. Besides, Heath wouldn't be able to get me out of the insignificant window. Luckily for me, Heath heard the girls&

The Scouts and I headed out of the gates of Canning Sea Scouts, heading towards Murdoch University. They continued onwards until a bus stop, and they took the next bus, number 100, to the Canning Bride Station. There was a bit of a fuss getting correct change for the bus driver, but in the end, it was all sorted out and all the scouts sat together at the back of the bus. It was a great time to rest their legs before the day ahead. They passed the University and drove along the highway until they reached Canning Bridge Station. They got off the bus and walked down the steps to the underground platform where the trains arrive and depart. Once they passed that, Tommy the Water Bottle fell out of Lucas's bag again, and almost rolled onto the tracks. Lucas caught him before that happened though, so they kept going until they realised they had to go back up the stairs. They went back up the stairs and took the path they were meant to take the first time, and followed it until they were

It was around half past five in the morning when all the scouts came out of their tents. They started to make their breakfast, and once they were finished that, they had to clean the hall. They couldn't completely clean the hall at the time though, as Heath was still packing his things, so they headed outside again. They packed up their tents, probably the quickest they've ever done it, and packed up their bags. Once that was done they didn't have much to do, so they started climbing trees. That was alright until I was grabbed by Darien and taken up the tree too. Why? He put me in a fork of the tree and started climbing up the main trunk of the tree. Why?  He kept climbing up towards the top of the tree, getting higher than I thought he could climb, and by the time he stopped and I opened my eyes, we were at the very top of the tree. Why?  He put me in a fork up there and declared me their god. Well, yes, he was technically right, but I don't need to be fifteen metres

After forty-five minutes or so (I lost count), the Scouts took off back the way they came. Only this time they seemed less exhausted as they crossed over the bridge. Probably from the stop. Anyway, they carried along the same bike path until there was a split in the path. They took the left one, which took them to another bridge, although this one wasn't over water. I still didn't want to be dropped though. They continued along the pathway until they reached the end of the last fire break again, and they followed it back to the small bridge that was over water. They then took a large loop that brought them back right to where they started. They walked over the bridge, and Heath completely missed the turn-off that was obviously marked and written on the map. Aimee and Hayley corrected him though, and they were soon back on track. They then followed that track to a dog park, and took a break there. Right on cue, around five dogs showed up all at once. They were all licky and s

As the Scouts walked out of the door at 2 PM, with their large backpacks on, I readjusted my invisible golden cord and fixed up my International Scout Medallion Crown (Which was also invisible) and was subsequently dropped. On the ground. These are scouts. I reminded myself. They all have cords. It might have just been an accident. We weren't even out of the golf course yet; It must have been an accident. Then we got out of the golf course and we started crossing roads. Please don't drop me now!  I thought. I don't want to be run over!   Somehow, the blonde girl, who's name I gathered was Aimee, didn't drop me on the road but she almost dropped me a second time when we made it back on the pavement. Then she gave me to her brown-haired friend Hayley, who did not  drop me. That was good because I was already dirty enough from the Leadership Course a few months ago. We trecked through the firebreaks behind some houses and then along a road in the sun. It was getting

The lights were on. The door of the cupboard opened. I was going to be free! Finally, I was to no longer be caged up and will be treated like the God I am! Yet, as I was lifted out of my cage, I was chucked straight to another human. Great. This was going to be a long hike. I guess it wasn't anything to be worried about though. I'd been on plenty of hikes before. I hiked 100 kilometres in a day. I camped on top of Uluru for a year with no supplies. This should be simple. Unless it's the Cubs. Then I would be doomed. That's why I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the green shoulder pads. They aren't Cubs. I should survive. The bright sunlight streamed into my eyes as I was taken outdoors. It had been far too long.
